Add Saddle Fitting Shims to the Pad in My Cart
$24.00 – $70.00
Saddle fitting shims: ThinLine material protects, provides comfort, stability, and helps you create the perfect fit.
We are so happy you are purchasing a ThinLine Pad- Please use COUPON CODE PerfectFit for 15% off shims for your new pad. The coupon code only works if you have a saddle pad in your cart because if you use this and have not purchased a pad at the same time, our not so psychic order fillers have trouble figuring out which pad you own!
When you see ThinLine sewn onto any saddle pad, there is a pocket for you to add an insert, also called shims.
Saddle fitting Inserts are made in two thicknesses of the amazing shock absorbing protection: ThinLinePlus+ 1/4″, ThinLine (thinner) 3/16″
The full ThinLinePlus+ Booster shim is 5mm. This shim allows you to double your protection without altering saddle fit.
Saddle fitting shims/inserts have been carefully designed by Master Saddlers. They are custom cut with a tapered edge to ensure you will never have a pressure point. Our exclusive foam makes saddles fit better and horses more comfortable. Inserts stay put without shifting and you may stack up to three sets. The pocket is open inside, allowing you or your saddle fitter to place the inserts precisely where your horse needs it.
If you find you no longer need inserts, just remove them and keep all the great benefits of your ThinLine Pad!
Shims are sold in pairs. Options are Front, Bridging, Rear, and Full Booster shims. Kits are also available for your convenience.
The english kit comes with one pair of front ThinLine+ (1/4″) and two pairs of rear ThinLine (3/16″) shims.
The western kit comes with one pair of front ThinLine+ (1/4″) shims and 2 pairs of bridging shims (1 ThinLine+ and 1 ThinLine 3/16″).
Colors: Please note, ThinLinePlus+ shims are available in black only. ThinLine shims may arrive in black, brown or white. Shims cannot be seen inside your pad. If you have a set of shims with texture on top it is ThinLine (3/16″), if it is slick on top, it is ThinLine+ (1/4″) – the thickest.
Questions and answers of the customers
- Q I have a saddle that I think is a little to wide in the gullet. There is pressure under the front conchos. Its really tight when I run my hand under the front.Do I need front shimsA Thanks for your question! Adding front shims, in the ThinLine Plus thickness (1/4"), will provide the most lift and protection under that area of your saddle. We also recommend working with a saddle fitter to determine the best fit for your particular horse.
