ThinLine Trifecta Cotton Half Pad

What is ThinLine?

ThinLine is a thin, shock absorbing non slip breathable foam.  It is the only equine product endorsed by surgeons, master saddlers, riders and veterinarians.

Where is the ThinLine?

It is sewn onto the panel of our cotton Trifecta Half Pad.

“The manner in which this product absorbs motion encourages horses to lift their backs, developing strength and top-line.  It has been endorsed by Veterinarians, for horses, as well as Spinal Surgeons for riders. It is a top pick for Master Saddlers around the world. Equine Chiropractors and Massage Therapists carry it on their trucks to keep horses going strong, supple and relaxed.  Trainers and riders find it a trusted product to improve rider equitation.

It is the dual benefits of extraordinary shock absorption and rider motion reduction that sets ThinLine apart from other saddle pads.

  •  Ultimate protection for both the horse and rider’s backs.
  •  Reduces rider movement and prevents saddle slip.
  •  Contoured spine free channel for comfort.
  •  95%  shock absorption.
  •  Breathable to release heat and moisture.
  •  Shimmable for customized saddle fit.
  •  Easy maintenance and long-lasting performance.
  •  Low profile correction saddle pad, measuring less than 1/2″ thick, allows for close communication and feel.
Available in White, Black, and Dark Brown.

Love this pad! I use it every time I ride, even though I have a brand new saddle. It just adds that extra layer of protection and comfort. It’s well made and attractive. I have other ThinLine products as well. I’m a big fan!

Use this pad every ride. Currently I have been through a number of horses looking for a suitable lease situation. I have been able to use the shims to fix minor fit issues with my saddle and the horses seem quite happy. As the current horse has poor topline development, the pad helps him to accept weight on his back and lift, instead of hollowing away.
These pads are sturdy (had mine for years and use it everyday) and wash really well.

My horses are so much more
comfortable in their thinline than with any other pad. You can certainly tell a difference in their demeanor and their performance. I use this with every horse that I ride and it’s easy to add shims to for correcting saddle fit. I’ve had it for years and there are no signs of wear and it’s super easy to clean. I will never use another half pad!

This is an amazing pad! I have it in white which I use everyday and when showing. This pad gives me peace of mind. I know when my horse and I are galloping on the cross country course her back is supported and protected. This pad also helps me to feel more stable in my position. I have had this pad for about three years. Since I have the pad in white, it gets dirty but with a little soap and elbow grease it looks like new! This is the best pad that I use on both of my horses. I love that it has shims but I that I can use it without the shims as well!

After hearing nothing but good things about Thinline products from my saddle fitter, I purchased the Cotton Trifecta Half Pad. My extremely sensitive mare and I both LOVE it! The feel, pressure dissipation and breathability of this pad is outstanding and it’s easy to use and clean. My old pads simply don’t compare and I’m looking to utilize Thinline products in my western riding and carriage driving gear in the future as well. Fabulous product!

Do these pads work well for long mountain trail rides? Have an endurance saddle for one horse and a western roping saddle for anotherBack to product

  1. Thanks for your question! This particular pad is designed to be used under most English saddles and on top of  another pad. For longer, strenuous trail rides in your specific saddles, our Basic Western ThinLine pad is a great starting point. You may also want to consider one of our all-in-one pads, like the Western Color Work Pads Cordura or the Full Sheepskin Western Correction Pad. The all-in-one makes tacking up easier and eliminates the pad shifting that sometimes occurs when using two pads. We also make pads designed just for endurance saddles. Feel free to give us a call if you need further help choosing a pad!

  2. I would try either the Endurance/ drop rigging protection pad or one of the western color cordura pads. All saddle pads have the same ThinLine foam protection. The choices simply come down to customer preferred sizes, color, and materials.
