What is ThinLine?

ThinLine is a thin, shock absorbing non slip breathable foam and is the only product endorsed by surgeons, master saddlers, riders and veterinarians.

Where is the ThinLine?

It is sewn onto the panel of our saddle pads.

“The manner in which ThinLine absorbs motion encourages horses to lift their backs, developing strength and top-line.  It has been endorsed by Veterinarians, for horses, as well as Spinal Surgeons for riders. It is a top pick for Master Saddlers around the world. Equine Chiropractors and Massage Therapists carry it on their trucks to keep horses going strong, supple and relaxed.  Trainers and riders find it a trusted product to improve rider equitation.

It is the dual benefits of extraordinary shock absorption and rider motion reduction that sets ThinLine apart from other saddle pads.

This is hands down one of the best products we do.  You will feel all the sensations of your horses’ back muscles while enjoying all the shock absorption and non slip features of the trademark ThinLine foam.  Balance, comfort and security can all be yours in this half pad.   You will find yourself sitting correctly, developing great core strength while finding a close but quiet communication with your horse.  Equines love this half pad- they feel unified with their rider.  So go ahead, it is time to have the ride of your life.

Medical Grade Sheepskin Wash Instructions

Our products come with a full-year warranty provided they are cared for as directed.

Regular maintenance: Dry between rides. Place the pad sheepskin face up in a cool environment, in humid climates use a fan to blow over the pad. Once the pad is dry, lightly brush it with a pet brush to help to keep the wool fluffy and resilient for the next ride.

Washing and drying: Sheepskin saddle pads are best washed by hand in cold water. Using only Eucalan Delicate Wash keeps your pad under warranty. You may machine wash (although hand wash is preferred) in a front loader, no agitators against the ThinLine panels, gentle wash cycle, cold. Remove excess water in the pad by squeezing the water out or placing in your washing machine on the spin cycle. Please do not use Melp!

Fill washing machine (or bathtub for really large items) with water, then add Eucalan. Soak for 1 hour squeezing soap and water through item from time to time. If the item is really dirty you may need to repeat the process. Squeeze or use the spin cycle to remove excess water and lay over a rack or rail to dry with sheepskin facing up. Keep out of the sun, and away from direct heat and dryers. Please do not brush or pull sheepskin fibers when wet. To prevent shrinkage, gently stretch the hide while drying.

Full Sheepskin Pads may take 2-3 days to dry. Sheepskin trimmed items should be good to go in a day. The ThinLine shim may slow drying time, we recommend placing absorbent products such as paper towels or chamois cloths inside the pocket.

You can use Scotch Guard the rolls to keep them clean and extend washing cycles.

When the care instructions are followed properly, our sheepskin pads are proving to have an expected 4-5 years of use.

I have been using my sheepskin comfort half pad for 3 months and I will not ride without it or any thinline half pad under my saddle. Not only has it helped with my horses comfort but has also helped my saddle fit better. I always recommend Thinline first to my customers when they ask about half pads.

Use your show one daily, I have had the same one for 9 years now, time for a new one but the sheepskin held up beautifully and it’s just now a bit compressed. I use it on all of my horses, prior to my daughter I rode 6 a day on average, sometimes 8 depending on client load at the time. I broke my back in 2008 and to be honest without thinline I can’t do my chores after riding.. I need to get another one soon. Lauren Schwartzenberger

Laura Taylor Vaughn just received this from the office….”It matter not which pad they choose. All ThinLine products help with kissing spine. If they would like the best for the horse, we would recommend #7023 English and #3334 Full Sheepskin with Ultra ThinLine panels. Attached, please find the image of the TL stand at 3-H Veterinary, one of the Vets who works to help all sports injuries and issues with kissing spine.”

Before switching over to the ThinLine half pad, I tried everything to keep my saddle balanced and my horses comfortable. This is the first pad that does both of those things as well as keeps me feeling close to the horse! I love being able to add shims if needed and I love the slimming, tailored look that the half pad offers. I am so impressed by the quality of ThinLine products; two years old and the pad still looks like new! Thank you!

I have used this pad now for about 3 years and love it. My horse has a very sensitive back (actually he has very extra sensitive skin all over), and when not using this pad his is much more grouchy when saddling up. He is more willing to stretch over his back and I am certain it is the pad that is making him more comfortable. I also find it makes me more comfortable too. I tend to have some lower back pain and using this pad helps lesson the concussive feel from the horses movement. Mine has held up extremely well over time, I highly recommend it.

“I can not recommend ThinLine products enough. I currently have a growing three year old OTTB with a very sensitive back, and my Full Sheepskin Fleece Correction Half pad from ThinLine makes a world of difference. The very first time that I rode with the pad, I immediately noticed a difference in the way he was moving. He has begun to reach underneath himself and lift his back. I no longer feel the need to worry about whether or not he will have a sore back after our rides. Thank you ThinLine for creating products that really, truly are made with the horse and their comfort in mind.”

I can not say enough good things about ThinLine products especally this pad. I have several horses and have used different pads in the past but I have seen and felt a difference in my horses performance when using the trifecta half pad. Between jumping and dressage this pad helps absorb motion which helps encourage them to lift their back during work. One of my horses use to be very sensitive during dressage as she was very weak in her top line, I looked into thinline and decided to give this pad a try and I will never go back to anything else. My girl is much more willing to engage in her back and stretch with willingness. I have had my pads for several years now and they hold up great, especally while being used on personal and training horses. Thank you ThinLine for creating great products that help our horses, you really do a great job thinking about the care for theses amazing athletes.
